Ing. Eduard Bakštein, Ph.D.
Working group leader
The Measurable Psychiatry group focuses on biomarker research in major neuro/psychiatric diseases, particularly schizophrenia and bipolar affective disorder. Using advanced methods of data analysis, biostatistics, and machine learning, we address challenges such as relapse prediction from longitudinal behavioral data, prediction of functional outcome from first episode data, digital phenotyping, automated diagnosis, and more. We are developing and evaluating new diagnostic methods and tools, including custom hardware and mobile apps. We are collaborating on a number of ongoing projects at the NIMH and within international consortia and research initiatives. Our research activities are aimed at objectifying and streamlining clinical decision-making, diagnosis and treatment in psychiatry - from basic research to deployment in clinical practice.
