EU-PROMENS project offers internships abroad for mental health workers

The EU-PROMENS (European Programme for Mental Health Exchanges, Networking and Skills) project aims to improve the skills of mental health workers while increasing their numbers across Europe. The National Institute of Mental Health will host a team of experts during this winter and the coming spring. Interested applicants can apply now for placements in Croatia and the Netherlands, with more destinations to be added in the autumn.

The exchange itself lasts for two weeks and includes visits to service providers, workshops and job shadowing. Participants will be selected on the basis of career profiles and professional experience in order to foster interdisciplinary cooperation and mutual transfer of experience.

It targets different groups of professionals, including:

  • Health professionals working in the mental health field,
  • teachers and other educational staff,
  • social workers working in community centres,
  • professionals working in prisons and juvenile detention centres.

The EU-PROMENS project also includes hybrid three-day training sessions in EU Member States, led by both local experts and international experts. The content will focus on proven treatments, recovery, prevention and mental health support. Special attention will be paid to vulnerable populations.

The registration is now open for exchanges in Croatia and The Netherlands.
