Discussion & Launch: How do we care for the health of transgender individuals in the Czech Republic? - 28/5
Transgender and gender-diverse individuals in the Czech Republic face challenges that often remain overlooked in public discourse. Experts from the Trans E-Health project at NUDZ are now releasing new translated standards for the quality of healthcare for these individuals in the Czech Republic. What changes could these standards bring to the Czech environment, and what approach to care do they require? What is the potential for improving the overall health and well-being of gender-diverse individuals?
We invite you to a discussion and launch of the publication "Standards of Care for the Health of Transgender and Gender-Diverse Individuals" (Version 8).
NUDZ + RESPEKT Discussion & Launch: How do we care for the health of transgender individuals in the Czech Republic?
On Tuesday, May 28th at 7:00 PM at the Atypical Bookshop & Safe Space in Prague, Menclova 2538/2 (DOCK Libeň)
Czech research indicates that transgender individuals face stigma, discrimination, and limited access to care. Experts from NUDZ's Trans e-Health project are releasing new quality standards for healthcare (WPATH version 8), which could lead to changes towards a model that better reflects the needs of gender-diverse individuals and integrates broader medical, mental, and social aspects of care. The discussion will offer a comparison with international practices and explore the potential of these standards to improve the overall health and well-being of transgender and diverse individuals. It includes the impact of barriers, minority stress on health and well-being, the need for professional education, and current developments in scientific knowledge.
