The aim of the project, as part of an ongoing multidisciplinary collaboration, is to:

  1. Fundamentally solve the problem of missing analytical standards for new psychoactive substances (NPS).
  2. Identify the key characteristics of dangerous NPS based on pharmacological, toxicological, and behavioral studies, enabling their rational inclusion on the list of controlled substances.
  3. Fully analyze legislative approaches worldwide (regulation beyond international conventions: specific vs generic system).
  4. Create a database of major NPS precursors to allow future regulation of these substances.
  5. Monitor the online market for NPS.
  6. Identify metabolites of selected NPS and incorporate them into toxicological libraries.
