Mgr. Veronika Langová
Mgr. Veronika Langová is a researcher at the Center for Advanced Studies of the Brain and Consciousness and a PhD student in the Neuroscience program at the Third Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. She is testing a novel model organism for schizophrenia research. Her research focuses on a species of weakly electric fish, Gnathonemus petersii. These fish use electrosignaling for spatial orientation and mutual communication, making them a promising model for enriching psychiatric disease research with new approaches to studying cognition and language.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry of Organisms and continued with a Master’s degree in Animal Physiology at the Faculty of Science, Charles University.
