Mgr. Monika Kliková, Ph.D.
Mgr. Monika Kliková, Ph.D. works at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIHM) as a researcher and a clinical psychologist. She studied psychology at the Faculty of Arts, Palacký University, where she spent a semester at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen in the Netherlands. She obtained her doctoral degree in Neuroscience at the Third Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague, and during her postgraduate studies, she completed a research internship at Argosy University in Washington, D.C.
In the field of psychotherapy, she underwent a comprehensive educational program focused on the prevention and treatment of psychotrauma at the Rafael Institute and completed the Kroměříž Hypnosis Course I. She successfully passed the certification exams in Clinical psychology and Psychotherapy.
Her research primarily focuses on sleep, parasomnias, and emotional regulation. In 2022, she received an award for the best publication granted by the Czech Society for Sleep Research and Sleep Medicine for the study Objective rapid eye movement sleep characteristics of recurrent isolated sleep paralysis: a case-control study.
