PhDr. Mária Figurová gained her degree in Psychology at Charles University in Prague. She completed a 5-year training in cognitive-behavioral therapy and a Psychologist in Health Care course. Her academic pursuits were concentrated on the application of positive psychology principles within psychotherapeutic contexts. She worked at the Bohnice Psychiatric Hospital, where she focused mainly on patients with addiction. She is currently working as a therapist in a private clinical practice and is actively involved in  the organization Úsměv mámy. At the National Institute of Mental Health, her main focus is on exposure therapy in a virtual reality environment.
