Doc. Jitka Bušková, MD, PhD is a neurologist with a European certificate in somnology, Expert in Sleep Medicine. From 1998 to 2014 she worked at the Centre for Sleep and Wakefulness Disorders at the Department of Neurology, 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. Since 2015, she has been working as a senior physician at the Department of Sleep Medicine of the National Institute of Mental Health. She also gained experience in Sleep Medicine at Yale University, Faculté de Medicine, Hopital Gui de Chauliac in Montpellier and Hopital Pitié Sal-Petriere in Paris. In addition to clinical medicine, she teaches medical students and postgraduate students in Neuroscience at the 1st Faculty of Medicine and 3rd Faculty of Medicine. For the professional public she organizes the e-learning course Sleep Medicine in Practice and a number of other workshops. She has received the L'Oréal award for women in science and has been awarded twice by the World Sleep Society for sleep education and awareness.
